Have you noticed how actors have a distinct speaking voice that is different to the Average Joe?

It seems, to me, that prospective new actors are chosen by agencies, not by their looks alone, but by their distinct voice tone. If actors just sounded like the Average Joe (or Josephine) on the street then would they really have that much appeal? Sure, they might be good actors but what would really make them stand out among the crowd? Their voice, of course.

Just from listening to a voice, I reckon that most people could identify that particular actor.

What do you think?
I don’t mean singers, actors as in movie actors.

actors, since most have training in using their voices, are distinct.

    I think your getting singers and actors mixed up.

    Singers = voice

    Actors = looks

    Depends on the individual.

    As far as casting goes, agencies and directors are going to go for looks over voice any day. Film and Television are visual mediums.
    Networking and Marketability is also important.
